When we opened Coffee on 3rd, our dream was always bigger than coffee. We wanted to create a place where people could gather, build relationships, and feel like they belonged. As we watched families fill our shop, we quickly realized that investing in our community meant investing in its youngest members.

That dream led to the creation of The Backyard and the Sweet Spot Creamery.

More than serving ice cream, Sweet Spot Creamery was created with a purpose, to provide opportunities for young people to grow, learn, and succeed. We wanted to create a place where kids and young adults could gain real-world experience, develop confidence, learn responsibility, and discover the value of hard work in a supportive and encouraging environment.

We believe that every young person deserves someone who believes in them, invests in them, and helps them recognize their potential. Through mentorship, hands-on experience, and meaningful relationships, our hope is that Sweet Spot Creamery becomes more than a first job, it becomes a stepping stone toward future success.

At the same time, The Backyard provides a place where children can play, families can connect, and lasting memories can be made. Together, these spaces reflect the heart behind everything we do: faith, community, and loving people well.

Today, Sweet Spot Creamery and The Backyard are more than businesses, they are ministries of community. They are places where young people are encouraged to dream big, families grow stronger, and neighbors become friends.

Our mission has always been simple: to create spaces where children are valued, young people are empowered to succeed, and community feels like home.
